Hi, I’m Aly.

I am a contemporary fine artist based in Austin, Texas. I create unapologetically happy fine art paintings, that celebrate the beauty of nature and bring joy to those who encounter them. I paint mixed media floral and cacti fine artworks, capturing the beauty of nature with vibrant colors and textured layers.

Growing up in Kyiv, Ukraine, I was immersed in the rich artistic heritage of Europe. My family's annual tradition of attending Kyiv's annual art fair fueled my appreciation for art, resulting in a growing collection of oil paintings depicting city scenes, landscapes, and still life. Trips to museums and art exhibitions were treasured family moments, and my grandparents' home was an art collector's dream. Their porcelain figurines, historical art, and intricately hand-painted tableware sets fascinated and inspired me.

Initially hesitant about the uncertainties tied to pursuing a "starving artist" career, I opted for a more conventional profession. This led me to pursue and successfully attain my bachelor's and master's degrees in Banking and Finance. However, my passion for art remained unwavering. Despite choosing a different path, I remained committed to nurturing my artistic curiosity during my leisure time.

Engaging deeply with theory, experimenting tirelessly with techniques, and learning eagerly from experienced artists, I honed and broadened my artistic skills. This personal journey led to a harmonious fusion of my formal financial education and a profound affinity for art, culminating in the chance to delve into art theory and history at the esteemed Sotheby's Institute of Art, adding a new layer to my artistic growth.

Since moving to Austin, TX I've found inspiration in the Texas Hill Country and the simplicity of family excursions.

The diverse colors and flourishing fauna of the region are what I strive to capture in my bespoke pieces. When I paint, I feel an indescribable joy, playing with colors, blending the expected with moments of surprise, and creating depth through layers and texture.

When I'm not in my studio, immersed in the creative process, I cherish time with my family - my husband Ben, our daughter Adelina, and stepchildren Jacob and Brooke. We are always excited to catch the latest theatrical production in town or indulge in life's simple pleasures like gelato and wine.

It brings me great pride to know that my art has found a place in private collections across Europe and the United States. Represented by various galleries in Texas, my paintings have found homes where they can be admired by art collectors and those who simply appreciate the beauty of art.
